Techie Since Birth
Hello, I'm Sean Hafford, a graphic design student currently enrolled at New England Institute of Technology. Ever since I was a child, I have been obsessed with technology, specifically computers. I was exposed very early on and instantly took interest. As I grew older, my interest in computers grew deeper and more advanced. At the age of 12, I created my own video game in Visual Basic. It was broken, janky, and not very good, but it was something that I could say that I created myself and that was a satisfying feeling. I continued my interest into what I could create and ended up leading myself into building my very own computer. This led into my first business venture, building computers for others based on their specifications. I loved creating and building my own things. It was rewarding and left me with such a good feeling.
Come time for college, I decide to pursue a degree in IT Networking. I loved computers and technology so to me at the time, it was a no brainer. I earned my Associates degree and found myself interning at a local soda company. I learned a lot at my time there and I would never regret it, but something was missing. IT Networking lacks creativity. Things are very cut-and-dry, done exactly by the book. I realized that as much as I liked doing it, I missed being creative. I grew a lot during these few years, and they really helped me find who I really was.
A New Beginning
I decided that instead of continuing my education in IT Networking that I would switch majors to GMW (Graphics, Multimedia, Web Design). I had always dabbled in the world of design through Photoshop or trying to build my own websites, but this was taking it to a whole new level. From the start, I instantly fell in love. I found myself rejuvenated and loving every minute. I instantly gravitated towards UI/UX. Through my time dealing with computers, hundreds of applications, websites, and interfaces, a good UI/UX and a bad UI/UX is as clear as night and day. I have grown to specialize in UI/UX design, branding, and logo design. I am dedicated to my craft and only hope to improve and hone my skills as I continue to gain experience.
Beyond graphic design, I have two major hobbies currently. The first is building computers. As stated above, I've been building computers for years now, and I still absolutely love it. I build them on an as-requested basis for anybody that asks, just buy the parts and I'll be more than glad to. My other major hobby right now is working on cars. Currently I have a completed project car, a 1985 Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86 that has practically been completely rebuilt that I bring to shows. I enjoy anything horror-related - movies, video games, books, and TV shows. I've always been a huge horror fan. I also enjoy long walks on the beach and kittens.
